I’m loving green and purple together, so two vintage Emma Domb dresses have caught my eye.
Emma Domb was a dressmaking company that was around through the ’70s. There are usually lots of good Emma Dombs on eBay, but that Vintage-a-Peel dress is the most interesting example I’ve seen.

Hi wendy-both are gorgeous, I love the 1st one best as I think it would be more regularly wearable!
ooo i love the first one, so 50s!

The Vintage-a-Peel one looks like you!
Holy drool, they’re BOTH gorgeous. So elegant.
Miss J’s seen plenty of Dombs on the ‘Bay, but none like the secomd one pictured. Wow. It’s fantastic.
Beautiful! I’m a big fan of that colour combo too.
The butter yellow with purple is a fantastic combination. It’s so beach house in the hamptons!
Actually I love both these dresses, they perfectly represent my fashion obsessions: the 50s style and the late 70s Stdio 54 vibe!
Sadly I don’t have any clue about you don’t get me on Google Reader… 🙁
these are lovely, that first one is so lady, and delicate, sweet! the second one is more me.
love the first dress. so gorgeous.
I love the one shouldered drapey shape of the second one…
I love both of these dresses but the second one is just striking to me.
OoooooOOOh! Love Emma Domb! And these are so different from the ones I find. Usually there are more diaphanous and drapey.
My newest dress is green and purple! I think it has another couple of colours two, but those are predominant.
Obviously, great minds. I’m using that theory so much today, it’s super flattering.
I love the way the second dress hangs, so elegant
Oh and I tagged you, look in my blog for the deets…
Both dresses are great.
Also love green and purple.

I had a dress just like the first one in high school. I got it at a thrift store and wore it with combat boots.
The second dress is lovely. Now that I’m a grown up, I’d wear it with some little silver Greek sandles.
i love them both
The second dress screams 70’s goddess
I love the first one 🙂 It’s beautiful and just plain adorable.
here’s that great color combination again! those dresses are beautiful, i wouldn’t know which one to pick.

imagine my surprise while reading an issue of Marie Claire on the airplane to see your article! congrats– that’s huge.
also, im loving the purple floral print- the first one looks like it would be perfect on you.
xoxo
whoa the shape of the second one is gorgeous, i like this off-the-shoulder-ness!
That top dress is adorable! Get it Wendy! With some cute vintage pumps and cool stockings, I’m sure you’d look amazing! Of course, you’d probably look amazing either way .:)
The second Emma Dombs dress just reminds me exactly why vintage pieces are so popular! I can easily imagine wearing it to a posh garden party (Not that i tend to frequent posh garden parties!)

I love the Vintage-a-peel dress. The colors immediately made me feel nostalgic (sorry Diana V) because they remind me of my grade 9 (I know) graduation ceremony dress: white lawn with tiny purple flowers and green leaves. I can almost taste it.
ooh. . both just take my breath away.
Sometimes when you post dresses, I think they are very pretty but I probably wouldn’t wear them. These two, however, I LOVE. Beautiful finds Wendy. Did you buy either of them?
IYF, the first one is “been there, done that” for me, but I have been pondering the second one for a long time. I have to check the measurements again.
Love Emma Domb, they are both gorgeous.
the lat dres is simply wonderful… perfect! btw, love your blog
