My new hero, the hilarious mofo Katt Williams, has a few things to say about knockoffs. He’s talking about cars, but his points can be applied to fashion knockoffs too.
Not long ago, gorgeous blogger Oh Lady E pointed out Nine West’s Chloe knockoff, while Always in Style came up with a Prada flower feet knockoff. Go ahead and indulge, but don’t come crying to me if you and your feet pull up next to the real deal and feel shame!

Katt’s hilarious! I am amazed at the numbers of people willing to spend their time and energy making counterfeit instead of making creative. Like Forrest Gump’s mama said, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Yeah this is a tough one. When the designers inform the general style, then certainly it becomes silly to fault the bargain brands for making what are essentially versions of runway shoes. But wearing a full-on pretend pair of Pradas involves the intent to misinform. And yet, does that necessarily matter?
I go back and forth on this, but either way, this clip made me laugh my ass off.

Hey Wendy, thanks for linking to my post…I just came across this. I was wondering why that post was getting so many hits!
Anyway, though I’m not a huge fan of the Prada knockoffs that I found I wanted to let people know about them because not everyone can afford the real deal…and some that do don’t want to shell out the dough, or miss out because they sell out (like these did in my case).
Generally speaking I don’t like knockoffs – too many people get exploited in the process of making them and even if they workers were treated better knockoffs are usually pretty darn tacky.
I dunno…I’m babbling but I hope you understand that I’m just trying to educate, not advocate for something distasteful!
