I’ve been trying to break my jeans-and-t-shirt-and-lots-of-jewelry habit, so this is what I wore to dinner at Landmarc restaurant last night.
That’s my Alexander McQueen sweater and skirt from 2004 with Henry’s new Prada bag. I can’t seem to get the hang of Photoshop (the shame!) so I couldn’t fit in the shoes — the only brown shoes I’ve owned during my adult life. They are by Sergio Rossi. In 2004, when I got the shoes, a friend of mine worked at the corporation that owned Sergio Rossi. I guess sales weren’t too good for that brand because when I told my friend I got a pair of shoes there, he laughed and said, “Oh, we wondered who that was.”
I’m also wearing my Isabella Wolf-Fang Necklace, my Victoria Buckle Ring, my Queen Min Ring and my wedding band and engagement ring.
you look adorable! congrats on breaking the denim shell! just don’t expect it of me!
You are excused due to pregnancy, PPIEW!
You look beautiful! Oh, that hair.
WendyB! How many rings r u wearing? Can I borrow -steal- one? I want the Beatdown engagement ring.
I am drooling over that bag, it’s divine!
You look amazing! I really love your smile!
That’s a wonderful change, and not used to seeing you this way, the color looks amazing. Fabulous bag, too!
You look absolutely lovely
You look lovely!!
ENC, Ugh! I’m so sick of my ‘do! But it seems one of the (many) drawbacks to getting old is that I’ve done all the other hairstyles and they all bore me. I’ve had a pixie, a shag and many variations of bobs. What’s left?
Alya, I usually wear three or four. When I go out! Not just while sitting around the house or running errands. I don’t always wear the beatdown ring.
And thank you to other commenters for your nice comments. I feel encouraged to try harder with my out-to-dinner outfits.
You look lovely. And I love that bag. I used to be a bag ho, but have had to cut back significantly, what with the small children and large mortgage.
Damn, do you ever take a BAD photo, woman? No. You don’t. You’re an enigma. It’s so unfair.

you look simply lovely. i love reading about all of your stylish things, since I have to live vicariously through blogsphere land for style ideas. i do have a beautiful calvin klien coat, but other than that there are NO designer labels in my house. oh…an alfred sung silk blouse as well. it’s gorgeous. too bad you can dress me up but not take me anywhere. I am a little messy-lol
oh my, you know i wasn’t sure how the bags would look in real life, but with your lovely classic attire, it’s amazing.so you’re going to keep the bag???
Fashion on a plate!
How can a shoe manufacturer fail with a name like Sergio Rossi?

CDP, it’s tragic that kids and purses aren’t more compatible.
Princess, I’m a lot messy but manage to hide it…in public.
Guv’ner, the delete button takes care of all THOSE photos.
Jennine, Henry insisted we keep it! That naughty dog!
Gorgeous.
Very cute. Now if your husband could only get you to use your napkin and utensils 🙂
Hair: Think Susan Powter.
Please take good care of my future ring 🙂
You are so photogenic!
That t-neck is fantastic. You must tell us, is it cashmere?
You look beautiful, and you are perfectly color-coordinated with the wallpaper!!
faaaaaabulooooooous!
Nope, K-Line, just wool!
Suze, why do I need a napkin? I have sleeves.
Other peeps, thank you!
I was kidding about Susan Powter. I thought I’d better say something, because I’m finding out that sarcastic jokes don’t work very well in the comments section.
1. You look amazing, again. I’m getting a whole chic 70’s NY thing from your outfit.
2. I hate Photoshop, so I’ll let you in on a little secret: Microsoft Word. I do not lie. That’s how I do my little collages. You just pull all your pics onto an empty document, re-seize and decide what you want in the foreground and background. Not sure if you have a Mac, but if so, at that point, take a snapshot and viola! Your outfit collage in one easy jpeg.
Ooh, would it work on a PC? I will have to test that out. I couldn’t manage to crop the stupid picture in Photoshop so that I could exclude various ugly doors in the background while including my shoes >:-(
the bag is lovely…I want one
the whole outfit is perfect,it suits you and i love how you add print through the prada bag.
You do indeed look lovely. The fairy bag is a delight. My daughters have handpainted flower fairy chairs and mirrors froma beautiful little shop in London (shameless almost-name drop) and their mother would love a fairy of her own. Oh–I shall have sooo much to see in NYC very soon!
