Town car driver, about WendyB: “Mr. Paul, is that your daughter?”
Husband: “No, that’s my wife.”
Driver: “No, Mr. Paul, that’s your daughter, right?”
Husband: “No, not my daughter. Wife.”
Driver: “Mr. Paul, congratulations. You very lucky man!”
UPDATE TO ADD: There’s a very nice interview with Paul on mediabistro. Check it out.
I came to your site to ask you if you OD’d on latex legs on tonight’s Grammy awards show, and I found this splendid photo of you two who are blessed beyond measure. I’m so happy for you, WendyB and Paul.
Aww <3 That was really nice!
Awwww…I agree with the driver!
so cute 🙂
Awww, you both are lucky to have each other. Pretty pic!
Is that pic taken at your house, or were you at some swanky place with bigass, glowing sunflowers?
Ha! If you move to L.A., people won’t even bat an eye. But then you’ll miss out on the compliments.
nice photo, you must be very happy.
Dr K, we were somewhere in Scandinavia when this was taken but I can’t even narrow it down to a country. PAD, I was in LA when my two-years-younger-than-me stepdaughter was having a party. she was introducing me to everyone as ‘mom’ and they were all passing out. I was deeply disappointed that Angelenos would express such shock.
I like your flower ear headdress in this photo.
what a very nice picture, and a nice compliment to you both as well. beautiful.
You look so happy! What a great photo!
Wendy, you and your husband are the sweetness! You also look like you’re wearing Mickey Mouse ears with the glasses and the background;)
Miss Woo! You are totally right. I have mouse ears. LOL. Lynette, thank you for that especially lovely comment.
that’s amazing.
awww…
well, that’s better than people thinking your boyfriend is your son.
it’s just not the same the other way around….
Wedny, this post is full of so much awesomeness!
Awh. Thats so cute 🙂
Loving the red lips!
Aw shucks! You two are sweet. Now enough of the nice posts.
WendyB: You and Paul are so cute together! I love your Micky Mouse ears, too!! Also, I love the MAC longlasting red lipstick you wrote about on my blog. that stuff will not come off!! Merci!
I love your chin resting on Paul’s shoulder. There’s an obvious love and comfort there. And – major bonus – you don’t appear to have any lipstick on your teeth.
He IS!
Hahaha so cute! I would have been totally flattered if someone commented me like that.
you two are hot together 🙂

That’s so sweet!
You seem to have the best love story ever. I would love to know more about it!!!
your driver was right, Paul is a very lucky man! and we were so lucky to get you for a short date tonight!!! we had a blast, thanks!! jen
Sexayyyy WendyB! I wonder whether that was a bigger ego boost to you or your husband..
awww
But of course the car driver is right. In a complete opposite moment, I travelled to Australia last year with my dad. I was in a shop buying perfume for myself and my step-mom and got mistaken by the shop manager as my dad’s “companion”. PS I love the Gloriana pendant. It’s a fitting tribute to an incredible ruler.
Ho ho ho….. well, you’ve both equally blessed then…
What a weird situation!
Well,he’s a lucky man!
^^
Kissesssss
Wendy, girl. I didn’t know we have the same taste in men! lol
Anyway, still wonderin about the super red lipstick. What brand is it? Share the secret.
Besos!
haha! He’s probably thinking “God bless America”.
Aww he IS lucky! You’re fabulous, and I get confused for my dad’s girlfriend at times :shudders: He’s only 40 and rather young looking but it’s creepy as hell when people ask that.
Rocking the red lipstick^^
lol, thats so cute, people can be so nice. you look cute togethe. x
Yes! I finally scored me a Wendy Brandes first-link-listed with the following search: “latex empress butt jewelry.”
I’m so proud!
Also, in my attempt to find you via a sassy string of search terms, I discovered the blog of one Latex Lady. The blog is really well-written, with thoughful insights and clear prose, but the content! Oh holy mother of Christendom!
Our lady wears a latex burqa and runs a definitely-not-family-or-work-friendly blog that details all kinds of activities, including activities that involve her son’s girlfriend, two hours, and a rubber wand.
So funny!
This happened to my husband and me when we went to buy a car several years ago and the salesman asked if I wanted to test drive it “without Daddy.”
Miss J, lately I wear either MAC’s Longlasting Lust or Kimara Anhert’s Berry Freeze. The second one is more of a local brand, I think.
Deirdre, the Latex Lady sounds like quite a find. Exactly how much time did you spend on that site?
Iheart, that’s FABULOUS! Ha ha! Where you in shock? Whenever I hear something like that, it always takes me a few seconds to process the info.
Msciorti, that’s hilarious. Especially since the guy IS a recent immigrant from Russia. He’s probably so glad he got here.
Bronwyn and Jello, I agree that it’s much less pleasant to be mistaken for your real dad’s companion. Ew.
Jennine, the correct response would be, “He’s not my son, he’s my gigolo.” But you have to say it the way Karen Walker’s short, queeny frenemy said it on Will and Grace: “Jeeeeee-gah-lo.”
I actually thought you WERE wearing Mickey Mouse ears. And a little disappointed that you weren’t.
Happiness is always right – Jesus Christ
LOL ^_^
ps: i thought you were wearing mickey ears too!
Hey I hadn’t noticed the Mickey ears before I looked at the comments! I like the interview with Paul very much!
I’ ve said it before and I’ll say it again…older men are hot!You two look great together.I’ d like to say his brain for your beauty but he is handsome and you are brainy so maybe I’ll say…brains for brains and beauty for beauty!!!
Vintage bunny
Oh, VB, I love the things you say!!!!
That is very flattering! I bet your both lucky to have each other! and damn you wendy..u have a gorgeous smile!
ha! i have been in similar situations many a time! 🙂
