A disturbing Hieronymus Bosch figurine is the gift that says, “See you in Hell!” And don’t we all know someone who deserves that?
Egg Monster figurine is 20 pounds at the National Gallery shop. More nightmarish figurines here.
Hieronymus Bosch was a bit of an Adamite. The Adamite’s believed that the appropriate way to worship God was in the buff. His paintings are interesting but I’d prefer to never see Hieronymus in the buff. Yikes!!
I read this too quickly at first and erroneously thought that thing weighed 20 pounds.
It’s just absurd enough to make me want to buy it, but I have a bad track record of being thrilled with things that leave other people upset and calling me “quirky,” a catch-all phrase for “weirdo.”
If it is discounted after Christmas I am so totally on it.
wow!! that’s scary and unpleasant sight. lol. but it’s got this power that just makes me want to stare at it from all corners. but lol, i definitely wouldn’t want it tho.
Eeeeeek! I love Bosch, but I don’t think I’d hate anyone quite enough to give them this 😛
Yep. I know someone heheheeeee
I really like Bosch his paintings!
And I also know someone to give this too 🙂
Thank you, Wendy! The perfect gift for my sister-in-law!
Cheers.
Ah! That is kind of frightening. I hope I and no one I know receives it!
The frightening thing is I have a friend who would probably love this. And I swear she’s not Goth.
That’s gross. I hope it gets to my boss before the 25th.
Oh wow…I would so totally pay 20 pounds to get that onto my desk.
Ohmigosh.
xoxoxoxoxo
I know who needs that figure off to chirstmas shop!
i perfer my eggs hammered as opposed to bow and arrowed.
Is that a pretzel for the leg?
I like pretzels.
I like Bosch – this is truly uncanny though!
This crosses off all the Bosch fans on my list! Yay!
That is one of the scariest things I have ever seen. I really want to get one for “somebody special”…
Oh so cute!
You always find the best stuff, WendyB.
wow!
haha… nice gift. I know exactly who to give that gift to lol!
I know a few people who need that!!!
Oooh, I’d love to give these little guys as a gift, but everyone gets so offended when you get them something more imaginative than a scarf. Bah!
my old roommate totally had this figurine. we kept it in the living room on a shelf with many other odd toys.
That is fantastic, as long as it never comes anywhere near me.
