J. Crew’s popular Lexington jacket ($250) is back in a variety of solid colors including yellow and the pinkish “azalea.” Not as Balenciaga-esque as the Bella jacket, but that’s sold out except in navy. I can’t vouch for the quality, but the style is timeless. I say be bold and go for a bright color.

I LOVE THIS JACKET. Seriously I feel like if I bought it, it would prompt me to go through and edit everything else in my closet.

Oh, crapdoodles!!! The Bella jacket is sold out already?!?! Darn it! I do like the velvet one, though.

BWAH! “crapdoodles” just made my day.

This jacket reminds me of your yellow boots that I wanted so much to buy but wasn’t shipped here. Nice, but I have to say the pink one is better..

I really really REALLY want the J Crew patent-leather mary janes, in raisin, red, and black. Also coveting tweed mandy jacket. And ogling hooded trapeze jacket in ivory. Plus felted wood jenny jacket in bright flame. Then cashmere anna jacket in heather graphite. Finally printed silk twill shirtdress in black dots.

LOL, RCT, it would have been easier to give us the short list of what you DON’T want! I kid! J.Crew has great things nowadays. I loved looking at all your picks. The shoes in raisin are fabulous and I love those big buttons on the Jenny jacket.

J Crew has been spot-on with their jackets recently. I’d get this one except I bought the Bella in both tweed and velvet, and my jacket-budget is still recovering!

Although the Lexington jacket is (I think) unrivaled, there are still stores that have the velvet and wool bella jackets in stock. Try the SoHo store in NYC. They still have quite a few velvet in the deep blue, light green, and I believe the dark maroon color as well.
The Lexington is also available in silver, black and white, so you probably don’t need to change your wardrobe.
