My Latex Obsession

I’m back in latex-blogging mode, thanks to gorgeous blogger Jen, who pointed out these latex-looking leggings from The Row. According to Paper Magazine, they’re actually stretch leather. I’m not particular about the material; it’s just the look I like. When Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham first stepped out with skinny, shiny legs, a lot of people got in “fashion police” mode and slammed the look. That’s the tough part of being a trend-setter! You get a lot of criticism. Attitudes have changed rather quickly. I know people are desperately searching for those Kova & T latex leggings online, and I am still looking for them for you guys. In the meantime, this post has a phone number through which you can allegedly order those. American Apparel leggings are still a big seller and they’ve got some new colors so have fun with those.

The Row is, of course, the high-end label from (depending on what you read) Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen or Ashley alone. I’m not clear on where and when The Row will be sold (Barneys? Soonish? Feel free to enlighten me), but the Olsen’s lower priced line, Elizabeth and James, is at Neiman Marcus now.

    Yesterday, I found my old shiny black lycra leggings (from the 80’s! …And they’re still intact!). I think that’s the shiniest I would dare by now… though I’ve seen some cool silver latex around the web… who knows? 🙂

  5. LOL. I think my latex legging days are over. Like I did it TOO much in the ’80s. I’m thinking of hauling out my ULTRA miniskirt in patent leather. Don’t complain about the injury it does to your eyes if I actually wear it!

    You can buy The Row at Barney’s, but only in the shop, not online. I don’t think it’s sold anywhere online.
