Behind Big Glasses posted about red sunglasses and included a star-shaped pair in the photos. That reminded me of a pair of shades Freddie Mercury of Queen wore in the “We Will Rock You” video way back in 1977. I couldn’t find a photo of Freddie wearing the glasses but I was able to find the whole video on YouTube. What style! I love the sunglasses, his leather jacket, his hair AND those white boots.

What about Elton John and T. Rex. Oooh T. Rex got me through a lot of tortuous family vacations. I always pictured myself in a slinky disco dress and heels to the ceiling as I shimmied in the backseat. My grandma, of course, thought I was a little crazy…

Loooooooooooove T-Rex! And I still remember a time about, oh, 25 years ago when I was listening to a radio station that was playing “blocks” of songs by various groups and I thought to myself, “I wish they would play T-Rex” and a minute later they played THREE T-Rex songs in a row. LOL. The one time my prayers were answered and it was wasted on that. But still, they were three good songs!

The days the radio gods heard your prayers! I had some of those myself…they made the day something a bit magical.
I was, sadly, a little after the T.Rex-on-the-radio time, but my trusty little CD player brought me up to date. And when I got my license I used to blast it all over town from my sad, manual transmission Toyota. Sigh. I miss those days.
(And I’m not going to guess how old you are, just gonna say that you look incredibly young in your pictures. I’m 25 and I thought you were around my age… maybe you are and just a true T.Rex infant fan?)

Ha ha! I literally laughed out loud @ the age thing. Thank you, I’m flattered! But I’d be old enough to be your mother…if I’d been very precocious. Luckily my mother barely let me out of the house while I was in high school 😉

I’m glad I made your day, at any rate. (Though it’s true!)
