Yogi Berra once noted that cash is almost as good as money. I’m not in the market for a new wallet to keep my cash in, but if I were, I’d be interested in these two sold at MOMA, both designed by Hester van Eeghen.
The Sunrise wallet (above) is $145 ($130.50 for MOMA members) and has 10 card slots, a coin compartment and a section for paper money.
The Window Wallet (above) has a Mondrian vibe. It sells for $165 ($148.50 for members). I would definitely want to pass on this one:
I don’t even know what to say about that, but I want to say something nice. Here goes: it’s recyclable.
UPDATED TO ADD: I was sitting in my photographer’s studio a few days after posting this and showing him his photos on this blog when he spotted the envelope wallet. “I have that right here,” he said, and sure enough it was the same thing. He said someone gave it to him at a design show. It was pretty paper-y, I must say. It’s more of a cute stocking stuffer than a real wallet that could withstand everyday use.

OH !
I LOVE the envelope wallet!!!
But isn’t it a faux envelope?
Is it for REAL?
Is that MOMA too?
