I enjoyed reading the New York Times Style Magazine today, especially the unintentionally hilarious item about Hogan’s limited-edition Guitar bags named for various music icons. The ponyskin Chrissie — which the Times says is a tribute to Chrissie Hynde — looks gorgeous. Too bad the formerly leather-pants-wearing Hynde is now a PETA activist! For those of you who are still cool with leather, the inappropriately named bag will be available starting in September at Hogan on 134 Spring Street in New York. Meanwhile, I’m going to keep naming my pieces for long-dead poisoners. It’s safer. (New York Times site requires registration. Photo of the “Chrissie” from Hogan via the New York Times.)
UPDATED TO ADD: Check out Fashionista’s take on this fashion faux pas. Thanks for mentioning me, Fashionista!

It will be in tomorrow if you get it on the newsstand. It was today for subscribers. There was a lot to read; it was good!

Oh God, Chrissie will go mad when she sees that!YEARS ago I went to a Pretenders gig with my vegetarian (then) boyfriend who was friends with her drummer. We went backstage and and Chrissie admired my boyfriend’s non-leather boots. I was so jealous but couldn’t say much as I was wearing ponyskin cowboy boots and there was obviously no way in hell she was gonna compliment those. Gutted. (I *heart* Chrissie Hynde.)

its like they had the initial idea and ran with it without fully researching/thinking it through. Hilarious!

I want one of those! I wanted to get those bags shaped like a guitar but they were always too kiddy/tacky. This is perfect ~ classy!
