This sword necklace was designed as a tribute to the strength and determination of Empress Matilda, the rightful heir to the English throne in 1135. Her cousin Stephen usurped the throne thanks to the public's bias against women rulers. Matilda fought back for years. Ultimately, Stephen was forced to accept her son, Henry II, as his heir. Matilda's descendants ruled England for over three centuries. The elaborately engraved sword, made of 18K white gold, can be pulled out of its 18K yellow gold scabbard.
