Tweet I watched Game of Thrones Sunday night (OMG, right?!!) then switched to the MTV Movie Awards right on time to see Eminem and Rihanna perform “The Monster.” Having seen the only part of the awards I was interested in, I then turned the television off and went out for some non-poisonous wine. I definitely […]

Tweet Katy Perry wore a polka-dot-and-floral strapless gown on the red carpet at the American Music Awards. I got all excited, hoping she was wearing a 1980s Patrick Kelly … perhaps a ballgown version of the vintage dress currently available at Shrimpton Couture. Nope! Katy’s gown is actually from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2014 […]

Tweet I do have a passion for highlarious fashion, so I have to thank singer Rita Ora and Fashion Bomb Daily for introducing me to the art/fashion/performance art of The Rodnik Band via Rita’s cheese-slice dress. The Rodnik Band is designed by Philip Colbert, who was interviewed by the site Not Just a Label. The introduction […]

Tweet I sure do love leopard print, and one of my major fashion regrets is that I missed out on a two-toned leopard-print dress by Dolce & Gabbana in 2010. After I saw this bit of perfection on Rihanna I searched for it everywhere but to no avail. It was sold out in my size. […]

Tweet I saw lots of very lovely, appropriate dresses on the Oscar red carpet tonight. (I’ll include Anne Hathaway, whose “nipples” are actually — I think — darts in her Prada dress.) Like the Golden Globes, there was nothing crazy enough to warrant one of my coveted Best Dressed/Wear What You Want combo awards; Helena […]

Tweet I’m in Los Angeles for Oscar festivities! I’m not going to the ceremony this time, but that’s okay. I’ve already lurked seductively behind George Clooney on the Oscar red carpet once in my life — who could ask for anything more? Last night was The Weinstein Company’s pre-Oscar part at Soho House. Dorothy Pomerantz, […]

Tweet My designing friend Zang Toi had his Fall 2013 show at Lincoln Center last Wednesday. This season, he was inspired by Imperial Russia. Opulence. Zang has it! I was particularly attracted to the pieces in amethyst and emerald. Now that I think of it, maybe I’m looking for something to go with my Marie […]

Tweet I don’t know which I like better: this devilish vintage Moschino skirt … … or the dress version. Both are highlarious. (By the way, you can follow my highlarious fashion board on Pinterest by clicking here.)

Tweet I guess I’m in the mood to keep the party going, because I can’t stop my (online) window-shopping for vintage dresses with big, bold, bright patterns. Here are three that caught my eye. The first one is by Balmain. The other two are from one of my favorite fashion houses: Versace. They’re loud and […]

Tweet I’ve previously documented my passion for trompe l’oeil clothing, so it should be no surprise that this vintage Roberta Di Camerino gown blew my mind when I saw it on 1stdibs.com. I’m amazed that it’s a wool jersey. I figured it would be some kind of slippery nylon. SO! MUCH! FUN!
