My gorgeous friend Tina the Occasional Cook had a Solid Gold-themed birthday party last night. Actually, as I’m writing this, she’s still having the party. I left just minutes ago while an enthusiastic karaoke rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” was still in progress. You know that song:
The perfect outfit for a Solid Gold birthday party was clearly a piece from Stacy Lomman‘s Spring 2011 “Precious Metals” collection. It’s tough to wear a dress that was last worn by a stunning 6’1″ runway model (who is also my friend and favorite makeup artist), but I’ll share the photos anyway.

WendyB wearing the same dress.
What Wendy Wore
Dress: Stacy Lomman (spring 2011)
Pantyhose: Kate Middleton-worthy, worn due to cold snap/snowstorm
Shoes: Prada (2011)
Rings: My own designs
Lip color: Rebel by MAC
Hair: By superstar stylist Julie Matos
Makeup: By Tennille Nielsen
As you can see, hair guru Julie Matos wasn’t going to let me go out on Halloween weekend without something worthy of the holiday, even though Tina wasn’t exactly having a Halloween party. Hence the purple hair extension. Here’s a closer look.

Two hair pieces and 38 hair pins contributed to this look.
The birthday girl was stunning in a gold sequin Vicky Tiel dress.

Tina and I doing the WendyB pose together.
Speaking of Vicky Tiel, she has a new book out: It’s All About the Dress: What I Learned in 40 Years About Men, Women, Sex, and Fashion. I’ve only read a few excerpts so far but those have been highlarious and weirdly informative (now I know what Elizabeth Taylor ate for breakfast in the ’60s). Vicky will be doing a book signing at the Charles Nolan store on November 10. Tina and I will be there! So put it on your calendars if you’re going to be in New York City that day.
Thanks to Ken and Chad for hosting Tina’s big bash in their lovely apartment, and happy birthday, T-Wrexx!
Gorgeous dress, hair and WendyB.
You blow the model out of the water, no contest! So, was it a Solid Gold 70’s era disco party, or Solid Gold “come dressed as a bar of very expensive gold”?
Could you get hotter or cuter? I’m going with no. We’ve peaked at awesome here.
Also who’s that hussy? I’ve been out of New York for a mere month and you’re cheating on me?
Wench.
Love you.

No one can replace you — you are my only wife!
Love the gold themed party idea and the gold dresses. And those Prada gold shoes are to die for.
Golden, baby, golden! Great dress, and a great theme for a party.
Can’t imagine anyone wearing this better … really great dress on you.
Tks Madeleine!
Wendy is my muse!!
You are somehow channeling Judy Jetson – from the disco era! I LOVE the ensemble. Not surprising it’s a Stacy Lomman! And you look every bit as fab as the model.
Darling, you are so right! It’s very JJ, space-age!
But, how easy is it to dress WendyB? She’s perfect!
OMG you own the gold. You could not be more fabulous.
You totally rocked that glam gold girl…..the hair is pretty cool too…..and Id find a reason to wear those shoes….just sayin!
Love the dress. You rocked it! I think you can totally take the model.
You girls look stunning!!! Simply gor-g-eous!
And I love how Tina’s sequins are reflecting on your dress 🙂
Wendy, you look awesome! Funny party style! and I like the theme….
OOOPS…I meant FUN…not FUNNY!! Must learn to edit comments…
You look great in Stacy’s dress, especially with the hair extension. The gold theme sounds like fun, and Tina looks fabulous in her dress too. What a great idea!
I wish I were arriving earlier so I could go to the book signing. VT’s book has been downloaded to the Kindle for a while.
You looked stunning, and playful too with that purple burst. Lots of snow over there, I hear. I hope you’re faring okay with it. Pantyhose and par-tay!
Wendy, You are gorgeous! You are rocking that gold dress. I love the spunky splash of purple extensions. Happy Halloween!
You look so cute in that outfit and with your purple hair extensions! Where did your fuzzy boots go, though?
Those were for the snow only!
Wendy, you look smokin’! Love that dress – you are so rocking it.
What a smokin’ hot dress on a smokin’ hot woman!! An awesome theme for a partay, might I add!
Wendy, you did full justice to the dress even if you’re not 6’1″. Smokin’ dress!
You looked fabulous! I’m such a fan of gold :o)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I wish I had something peplum so I could be included in your post…still looking for the right piece!!
OMG when did you write this post??? I don’t even remember that Bon Jovi song being aired in the apt. That should tell you something. But more importantly, Stacy’s dress looked fab on you!!!!
