Last week, we met friends for dinner at the excellent Lincoln in Lincoln Center. I originally planned to wear jeans due to general lack of energy and the ark-worthy downpour we were having. Then I decided the evening deserved a little more sartorial effort, so I put on an Ossie Clark dress that I haven’t worn in a long time. I put a big coat over it to protect it from the rain.
I wasn’t in the mood for a picture after dinner, but the last photo I have of this dress is from several years ago, so I felt compelled to document it.

Remember, The Huffington Post has posted a list of organizations aiding Japan in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami. Donating money to such organizations is much more effective than trying to send food and clothing to places that may be hard to access. Two bloggers who experienced the quake and wrote about it are Shichimi and Fashion Toast.
You look beautiful … such a special dress and all your jewels.
Japan .. it’s unthinkable now. Prayers and donations.
I WAS going to say “you look beautiful” before I read Ms. Gallay relay the same sentiment. But it’s true, and I’m too lazy to get my thesaurus.

You look like a bouquet of beautiful spring flowers, you know, those which follow the spring showers. Oh. You said deluge. It’s rained all but one day so far in March here. And it rained a lot in February. But thankfully we’ve not had what you’d call a deluge very often.
a really beautiful dress.
I donated money too…I’m still devastated. And now the whole potential nuclear meltdown is all they needed…

I LOVE this dress on you, Wendy.
I adore mixed prints. And plunging necklines. So I’m giving this a thumbs up!
Such a fantastic dress.
Also, thank you for linking to the fashion bloggers who wrote about the quake. So hard to believe…
Wendy,
You deliver jewels as well as create them! And some, again like your jewelry, open up to reveal delicious treats. Loved the poetics of “after me” …. Thanks!
I enjoyed looking at the phrase in a new way!
Love everything about this ensemble-dress, shoes, nail color! Spectacular!
Beautiful dress.
Japan’s situation right now is so sad. I’ve donated to the Red Cross already, but there’s still that feeling of wishing i could do more.
You don’t look exhausted to me! The blue lapis of the Empress Wu ring goes perfectly with the peacock eyes of the dress. It’s a wonderful dress and you look wonderful in it. Thank you for the click through to the fascinating discussion of “After me, the deluge.”
