Columbia University’s School of Journalism includes the Knight-Bagehot program, which held its 35th annual gala fundraising dinner last night. Knight-Bagehot provides to qualified journalists a year-long fellowship in economics and business journalism. After a fellowship, the journalists know how to make a spreadsheet their bitch instead of vice versa. Take that, spreadsheets all over the world!
I dragged myself along to the dinner even though I was feeling strangely exhausted. I certainly didn’t have energy for getting dressed so I just found two black and white pieces and put them together. The outfit got several compliments so I was briefly energized.
What Wendy Wore
Coat: Vintage, possible Lillie Rubin (purchased between 1992 and 1995)
Dress: Versace (pre-2005)
Shoes: Prada (2010)
Bag: Louis Vuitton Alma in Epi (2001)
Ring: A new one that I’m not telling you about yet.
I took a photo with the coat off so you can see the nude insets around the armholes of the Versace dress. MrB took a blurry photo, but I was too tired for a re-do.
Came home, suddenly developed a slight fever and went to sleep at the shockingly early hour of 11 p.m. Now, naturally, I’m up at 3:30 a.m., wondering if I will be able to make it to all my important meetings this week. I’m also wondering if anything I just wrote made any sense. I assume that if it doesn’t make sense, you’ll tell me in the comments, preferably with a spreadsheet.

Hmm a few huge, tiny mistakes to be found! I am feeling strangely crap also. Must be due to sister’s birthday party last night/this morning (eek). BTW she loved her D necklace.

Hi my dear-I wish you a speedy recovery, hope you feel fit and fine for all these meetings due this week. The Versace dress is amazing and looks great under the coat!! xx
Julia, the Thanksgiving Girl says
Oh I hope you feel better asap! Maybe the whole thing will go away just as suddenly and quickly as it arrived.
I love the combination of these two plaids, btw! As for the ring, I think it was the first thing I noticed about the photo and although I can’t see it properly, I like it already π
Penny Dreadful Vintage says
Great pairing – I love how a truly fab dress takes no effort at all but looks like you’ve made a big effort.
All makes sense, except for ‘the dress Versace dress’. I have added it to my spreadsheet of blogger errors on the incorrect word entry tab (between the grammatical and spelling error tabs).

Fixed. Please adjust spreadsheet accordingly!

You can’t go wrong with black and white in different patterns. Sorry to hear you’re feeling ill though. Just avoid any spreadsheets until you get better. In your weakened state, they could very well make you their bitch.
Jill says
You look fabulous.
I’m sorry you’re feeling bad!
Your Adam Ant costume was frigging GENIUS!!
I worked at Lily Rubin while in high school.
I have some very interesting stories from that experience.

Do you remember on the third day of writing your blogpost when the winged monkey god appeared and told you the secret of the puzzle? Can you remember how many fingers he was holding up?
