Got mad Polyvore skillz? If so, enter my contest for a chance to win silver Cleopatra earrings worth $450. The gold and diamond version of the earrings are worn by Samantha in Sex and the City 2.

Polyvore describes itself as an “easy-to-use virtual styling tool lets people mix and match products from any online store to create their own fashion collections called ‘sets.’” Basically, you can use it to create a beautiful fashion collage. You can add any clothing or accessory item you find on the web with Polyvore’s addictive clipping tool. I’ve seen sets that are magazine-worthy. Youthful blogger and mad hatter Tavi created a couple of sets with my pieces last year. Here is one of hers for inspiration.
My contest will be open until May 23. Join this Sex and the City group on Polyvore to enter. You have to incorporate the Cleopatra earrings and another one of my pieces — your choice — in your set. Your sets will be judged for their fashion sense and artistry. The first-prize winner will win the silver Cleopatra earrings and one runner-up will win a silver Teeny Genie necklace. You could have your earrings in time for the movie’s opening on May 27! Oh, and you’re going to be reading about these earrings a LOT on this blog. Get used to it. Two helpful links are below.

Too bad I am the WORST at Polyvore. I was about to make a comment about how I’m too old to deal with its modular wackiness, but I have got to stop with that. It’s like I’ve turned 60 in the last 2 weeks – ok 80.
Nonetheless it is an excellent opp to win great jewelry…

oh and i use a white paper backdrop that we already had for doing others headshots, and my hubby already had a pretty nice camera. it’s a canon, something or other. and we already had lights with umbrellas for shoots as well. it takes up a third of our living room and never comes down. bless my husband.
