Walk a Mile in My Shoes

February 17, 2009 by WendyB

Gorgeous blogger Jennine from The Coveted is in town for Fashion Week, so she stopped by my apartment to meet the dogs and rummage through my closet. She got very attached to my Louis Vuitton gold platforms, as you can see.

Jennine is wearing my shoes better than I do.
The tennis ball behind her belongs to Gigi the dog.

Jennine also organized a fabulous and very successful fashion blogger party, which took place Monday night. I took this photo of gorgeous blogger Vyque‘s backwards-heel shoes there.

Last year, Fernando the iHog was mystified by this style, but Vyque was really working it. Moral of the story: don’t take fashion advice from pigs.

UPDATED TO ADD: As I told Jennine, I’ve worn those gold shoes for practically every dressy occasion for years. You can them peeping out from under my Zang Toi dress in the first photo here and with an Ossie Clark dress here. You can also identify them by the ankle strap in the picture of my pinkish/lavender strapless Zang here.

    I wish I were in New York…man!

I’m going for a day and a half next month, but I’m sure it won’t be nearly as interesting. =(

I saw the backwards-heel shoe a year ago and instantly fell in love. It still pains me to look at them and know that they’re gone now and/or I still don’t have the money to buy them. I think its the total impracticality of it that gets to me.

Did you frisk her before she left?

  5. WendyB says

Imelda, yes, but only because Jennine’s so sex-ay and I’m a pervert. It had nothing to do with the shoes.

I too would get attached to those Vuitton gold heels. I think I’d have to commit a crime to get them away.
