my new ring!

THANK you!

The email is from gorgeous blogger ENC, and the photo shows the first of three custom-made stacking rings I designed for her. I’m using the stones from an old ring that she inherited. The ring in the photo is 18K rose gold with rubies; I also have some diamonds to use. Stay tuned for the next two rings. And remember, there’s no need to keep jewelry you don’t enjoy when I can remake it for you. If you want to inquire about a redesign, contact me at wbjewelry at hotmail dot com.

UPDATED TO ADD: Here’s another view of the ring.

  6. Ladies Who Lunch says:

That is lovely. I have some old jewelry that I don’t know what to do with, a really old Chinese yellow gold bracelet that I had when I was a baby, the gold is so soft and at some point it’s lost its catch, not that it would fit me these days anyway! I’m always wondering what I can do with it to make it wearable again, seems such a shame.

  7. petite and dynamite says:

  29. *Lady D* says:

    That is one gorgeous ring!

  30. Thumbelina Fashionista says:

For anyone who thinks this is easy, IT’S NOT. I tried once, miserably, to make jewelry. I failed. Everything looked terrible, the lines were fuzzy, and those rotary machines freaked me out. After seeing your lovely designs, I’m convinced: you’re a genius.

  31. cybill says:

    Lordess of the rings.

  32. AsianCajuns says:

Lucky Enc – I’m so jealous! Damn this crappy economy forcing me not to spend any money – bah!

  37. Imelda says:

    That’s so sweet!
If I had a ring like that I would write an email like this aswell! It’s gorgeous!

  38. Prunella Jones says:

Oh man! I’m gonna scrounge around my grandma’s old jewelry for stones and gold so I can get you to make me a flying monkey ring!

  39. the iron chic says:

I know this is old….but did you read the article on gold in the National Geographic?
Pretty fascinating stuff…like all the gold that has ever been mined in history would only fill two olympic size swimming pools. huh!

  40. Duchesse says:

I keep blogging on this theme: REHAB your old jewelry. Gorgeous!

  41. WendyB says:

Iron Chic, I never read that article, though I meant to. I’ll have to look online.

Duchesse, I should note that doing something like this can be much more expensive than buying a ready-made piece. For custom work, I’m doing a one-of-a-kind design and the customer pays for the design work directly. If you buy from my inventory, I’ve already paid for the design work. It’s couture vs ready-made. I recommend this kind of project for people who have emotional attachments to particular gems or metals, not for people who want to be thrifty.

Other peeps, I’m glad you like it. Wait till you see it with the other two rings.

  42. Nina (femme rationale) says:

    this ring is gorgeous.

i wish i had “known” you before. i had a family heirloom “disappear” from a VERY reputable jeweler. they refuse to take responsibility for it and accused of us taking the jewels back and claiming we didn’t. now we’re gonna end up in a lawsuit w/them. but what pisses me off the most is that we lost a very precious family heirloom. oh well…

  43. market publique says:

I love the new ring! Great job with the redesign!

  44. stef m says:

love! would be cool to see the “before” photo as well. . .

  45. Miss Janey says:

What’s not to LOVE love love love??? It’s really beautiful, WendyB.

  46. Diane says:

I came to your blog to see your designs and they are wonderful.. this is truely incredibly special…

  47. Rachel says:

    absolutely beautiful-you’re so talented!!!
