I went out with a bunch of L.A.-based bloggers and I am a little tipsy. I meant to name these new earrings tonight but now I can’t come up with anything. What do you think? They’re 18K rose gold with gold-colored pearls. The earrings, not the drunk bloggers.

Interested in these? Email me wbjewelry at hotmail dot com for more info. And don’t forget to shop the sale on my website.

  8. Deirdre says:

They remind me of 50s clip art. How about “Martini.”

  9. enc says:

Hmmmm, I’ll have to think about this one. I didn’t get a chance to look at them up close. I’m not going to be a smart@ss and suggest “Sand Dabs.”

  10. Sunniva says:

    Oh they’re gorgeous! You’re very talented x

  11. ParisBreakfasts says:

“Bozo” because they look like a ball nose…? Maybe they need to be red?

  12. WendyB says:

PB, yeah, that would really make them fly off the shelves. I’m sure every woman wants something called Bozo! LOL.

ENC, “sand dabs” are my new favorite words.

  13. La Belette Rouge says:

I want going to call them “fish parts”. Wasn’t that the description of the sand dabs as they were passed around? Or how about circles of salami?

  14. Moira says:

How about Cyrk — which is the Polish word for Circus. They remind me of something whimsical, fun, yet modern like these mid-century modern Cyrk posters…

I see someone else had the same vibe with Bozo.

Thanks for last night! Come back soon.

  15. Isabel says:

    Good times, Wendy B.

P.S. The pink/purple boots I discussed weren’t exactly the same as the ones you posted about, but they were pretty similar!

  16. Savvy Mode SG says:

    oh super stylish and simple.

  17. pretty face says:

I don’t know why but the first word that came to my mind was ‘cone’ – probably due to the conical shape. Then it sort of evolved into the word ‘ciccone’. Apparently, this is Madonna’s surname. You like Madonna don’t you?

Plus it sounds sort of like the goddess Circe – daughter of the sun. And the bit at the bottom looks like a sun, doesn’t it?

A sort of morphing of those three words = the made up word ‘circone’.

  18. WendyB says:

Very inspiring suggestions, Moira and PF!

  19. MelO says:

    ooooh la la!!

    BEAUTIMOUS!!

I love these! Very pretty. To me, it doesn’t matter WHAT you call them :)

A rose by any other name…

  20. lisa says:

Oh my, looks like I missed out on a fun LA party while freezing my ass here in Vancity!

The earrings are gorgeous. I can’t think of a good name atm though. :-)

  21. lisa says:

Aahh I almost forgot–off-topic but I tagged you in my blog today! Check out the post for details.

  22. Miss Janey says:

    Gorgeous.

  23. Sal says:

They look vaguely topiary to me … huzzabut “topiary”?

Not terribly glam, as jewelry names go, I s’pose.

  24. G.G. says:

I would call them ‘Style Moderne’, the original name for Art Deco, or ‘Streamline Moderne’, one of the late branches of Art Deco. They are gorgeous. If those names seem to stiff, something about them reminds me of Marlene Dietrich :)

  25. fashion herald says:

    drunk LA bloggers, sigh.
maybe you could name them after one of the drunk bloggers?!

  26. KD says:

I like the name Circe because of the sun-shape at the bottom and the golden color. Whatever they’re called, I love them!

  27. copperoranges says:

you should name them after your favorite pet from your childhood.

  28. KiKi says:

they are kind microphone looking in a good way i dont know im not the best at coming up with names

  29. Jen (MahaloFashion) says:

    A very modern shape!

  30. Deja Pseu says:

How about “Cezanne”? They remind me of his more cubist work.

  31. stef m says:

    Golden globes.

  32. Songy says:

Love them. They are bit futuristic. Remind me of the move Gettika. Did I spell that right?

  33. Step Right Up says:

They remind me of exclamation marks. How about “Exclaim”?

  34. Duchesse says:

They do look like the classic cup and ball toy, so “Bilbouquet”.

  35. ambika says:

They look kind of Egyptian to me. I’d be inclined to name them Hatsheput or Isis or something like that.

  36. Prunella Jones says:

    I’ve got it! Dangleberries!

  37. WendyB says:

Prunella, you are a mad genius.

Ambika, I’m leaning towards the Egyptian idea. Hatsheput already has a locket but there are other candidates.

  38. -h of candid cool says:

    wow!!
