Looking forward to your thoughts about this book.

It sounds like a good read. Byzantine art is so beautiful, especially the mosaics. I wonder if this will inspire additional pieces for the Vivat Regina collection in the near future? =)

I hope it’s got 700 pages on triptychs of dour-eyed saints!

  4. Skye says:

Are you looking for inspiration for some more amazing women to showcase in your jewelery designs? That was one of the (many) pleasures of browsing your collection – learning about the women they are inspired by!

Oh, I can’t wait to see the jewelry ideas that come out of this one!

  7. La Belette Rouge says:

I smell a book report and some new antiquity inspired jewelry. And, it smells Byzantastic.

PAD, we can only hope I will be that lucky.

Other peeps, yep, it’s for jewelry inspiration and book reporting.

  9. Grant Miller says:

Oh right. This is Alice Walker’s sequel to “The Color Purple.”

Cool!!! I love history books of all sorts. I find that books for my age tend to be “Romance Novels” where the heroine is really annoying. So I read non-fiction instead! I know that NieNie has taken priority over rolled-up jeans, but being the impatient person that I am, what’s the word?

  11. Jill Sherman says:

sure as hell beats men in purple. (if i had a dollar for every prince ‘purple rain’ parody on comedy central…)

KD, I’m still experimenting, but you’ll see something soon, I promise!

You’re right. I never heard anyone say THAT before about that kind of book.

Hi there-when I was in my postcard art collecting phase, I picked up some Byzantine Art postcards, this era and Art is beautiful!! Some great inspiration, I reckon!!

  17. Make Do and Mend says:

Now the inspiration and outcome are to be looked forward to!
PS I’m officially obsessed by the wolf earrings so have set up savings fund to get the little critters.

  18. WendyB says:

Songy, I don’t do something new right after reading a book, usually. I just file away the information in my mind and wait till I am inspired. I have lots of queens who I know I will do something for, but the piece hasn’t really come together for me yet.
