When I saw the peacock dress that Eva Longoria recently wore in Cannes, I wondered if it was the same dress I tried on at my friend Zang Toi‘s studio a couple of years ago. It was!
Back in the day, MrB loved the teeny-tiny dress on me, but I was more interested in the complementary gown. The gown had a looooong train featuring the same mix of beaded/real peacock feathers used on the Eva dress. I didn’t think that was practical for me. Unless you’re a bride or being photographed on the red carpet, you’re going to spend the entire evening holding your train or asking people to please step off your train. So Zang decided to make a gown for me in the same beautiful green fabric with a shorter, plain train; he put the peacock decoration on two accessories instead. Here I am carrying the peacock fan.
Want some peacock stuff of your own? Trend de la Creme has a nice selection here.
UPDATED TO ADD: Here’s another kind of peacock fan.
You should be proud as a peacock, you look amazing in green!! OMG, if I were you I would be wearing it everyday. 🙂

I think PETA is gonna be mad at this post.

First, those brilliant peacock colors are your colors, WendyB.
Second, peacocks are in the news here in Portland, Oregon. To read all about it in the Oregonian,

Your life and my life… they are so very very different. The only time I think “Peacock” is when I watch “30 Rock” or “The Office” on NBC.
Great outfit and you beat Patricia Fields to it!
This peacock shawl is to die for-I adore it!!
I love Peacock prints on clothes, I have some t-shirts. Your pieces are amazing!
i’m really into peacock anything…the colours are so mesmerising…
oh yeah! i was going to say how beautiful you look in emerald green! i bet you look lovely in all jewel tones….
The dress is just fantastic! Actually, I prefer when you team green with your red lips! Very elegant!
Ohhhh I’m obsessed with peacock feathers – both dresses are beautiful and I love the fan and shawl!!
Me thinks someone may have a touch of the peacock complex!?
Most perplexing…
As soon as I saw that dress on Eva, I immediately did a search for something (anything!) vintage with peacocks. Nothing found yet, but I am still looking.
I have been looking for a peacock headband! I tried DIY-ing but it broke 🙁
I love peacock stuff, but it’s sort of funny too since it is a sign of vanity.
That looks like a beautiful dress, Iwhat a great color. I love peacock things myself, particularly printed on fabric or silk screened.
I love that color green.
You’re so lucky to have Zang customize the dress for you . . and you always look stunning, esp with that smile! I love anything peacock, although the only things I have now are peacock feather earrings.
I love peacock-inspired stuff. In fact, I was going to tattoo a peacock but did a mermaid instead (might still squeeze in a peackock somewhere on me though).
Well anyway, you look great in that green dress with the peacock accessory!

Oh, I love them all! You look so great in green.
you’re so ahead of the times! and that vibrant green was absolutely meant for you, it brings out all of your features 🙂
I once tried growing colorful feathers to attract the female of the species, but it didn’t work out too well.
I am green with envy over your shawl (sorry, couldn’t resist)…
Ahead of your time as usual, Wendy B!
Love the peacock shawl.
Love the dress!!!
Perfection, as usual. I love you in the bob.
How cool is that. You wore yours beautifully. I love the peacock feather as an accessory.
Peacocks invented glamour!
xx
