ENC of Observationmode is too shy to make a big deal of it herself, so I’m making a fuss for her: She’s getting married on March 20! Stop by her blog to leave your best wishes, but not your congratulations. Traditionally, you say “Congratulations” to the groom because he’s managed to find a woman who will put up with his ass. You say “best wishes” to the bride because it’s more polite than saying, “Um, good luck with that!” and bursting into wild laughter. Though now that I think of it, a few people said “best wishes” to me at my wedding and burst into wild laughter anyway.

The beautiful, but headless, ENC has not bought a wedding frock yet! Here she is in her casual look.

See? No head!

In honor of National Roth Posting Month, here are two runway wedding dresses from the archives of Christian Francis Roth to inspire her.

I love runway wedding dresses. Or she can borrow the white leather halter and hip huggers I wore at my reception. No, I didn’t walk down the aisle in that outfit but it would have been fun if I did. I changed into it late in the evening. Anyway, feel free to leave links to more unhelpfully flamboyant wedding outfit ideas for the low-key ENC in the comments.

This is fabulous, and thank you! I’m so grateful for your attention!

Re: my headlessness—it wouldn’t be an issue if I could get a photo of myself in which I didn’t look like a shellshocked zombie. I’m working on it.

WendyB: Something tells me, in a previous life, you were big in PR! :-) Can’t wait to hear about the next big thing in the blogosphere! Thanks for the heads up (I thought I saw a post from Enc speaking about this a couple of days ago). Doesn’t she look great in her photo? As I mentioned in my comment on her site, I’m psyched to hear details about the honeymoon location. So what can you tell us about that? :-)

I think if I ever get married, I could NEVER wear anything crazy like this.
My Italian boyfriend’s family would NOT understand it.
One time, his mom showed me pics from a wedding they went to and during the reception there was mist!!! They had a mist machine!
    Mist!

Wow I did not know that she was getting married I love her blog. Thanks for the heads up.

    K. Line, I think you might be right (so I adjusted my wording)…ENC just got me overexcited by saying casually to me, “I wonder if I should get a new dress for my wedding in 11 days” or something similar. zOMG!!!!

haha well i’ll keep best wishes in mind from now on and refrain from laughing my head off.

And i really do love the Christian Francis Roth dresses, very different.
